FOOD FOR LIFE

WHAT IS "FOOD FOR LIFE"?

Food for Life is the world's largest vegetarian food distribution program serving millions of meals daily, with projects in over 60 countries. With roots in the Vaishnava culture of charity and the distribution of pure food to all, the project is a modern day revival of the ancient culture of hospitality and a belief in the equality of all beings. Food For Life has been lauded by The New York Times and government relief agencies worldwide for its efforts worldwide.

Food for Life is an initiative from ISKCON South London Temple that has been feeding hot vegetarian meals to the homeless in Croydon since 2017. We are an affiliate of the Food for Life Global charity.

Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON's Founder-Acharya, is the inspiration behind the project. He stated that “No one within ten miles of a Hare Krishna Temple should go hungry.”

We provide over 150 freshly cooked, hot vegetarian meals every month on the first and third Saturdays for the homeless at Queens park, Croydon and first Tuesday of every month to asylum seekers. Often this is the only meal a person-in-need will eat all day. It is run solely by volunteers who donate their time after work.

THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS!

1. THE POWER TO COOK AND DONATE

2. THE POWER TO SPIRITUALISE FOOD

All items of food that are to be distributed must first be offered to the Lord to empower it with spiritual potency. This will then ensure the maximum spiritual benefit will be felt by whomever is fortunate to enjoy it.

3. THE POWER TO DISTRIBUTE
